We offer a two-year full warranty that The Sun On-Demand ™ is free from material defects in materials and workmanship, provided it is used in accordance with its specifications.

Typically, The Sun On-Demand™ will reduce lighting-related heat in your garden compared to LED and HID (i.e., metal halide, high pressure sodium, ceramic metal halide) by at least 50%. Each light covers at least 100 sq. ft., replacing 4 to 6 comparable HID or LED lights. Each The Sun On-Demand™ light emits 3,751 BTUs/hr. Please keep in mind that your room will be cooler and less HVAC will be necessary as fewer The Sun On-Demand™ lights are needed compared to HID or LED lights in the same space. We have seen that in extreme winter climates, additional heating may be required over LED and HPS. Download our Quick Math PDF.

The Sun On-Demand™ runs on dual phase, 220 VAC (Volts Alternating Current), and requires 5.7 Amps per fixture. Get the specifications here.

The Sun On-Demand™ is not dimmable in its current iteration. TSOD matched the sun’s energy from UV-B to far Infrared – or as we like to think about it from secondary metabolite production to circadian rhythm modulation. Plants choose which combinations of frequencies to use at each moment, stage, and need of its growth. Dimming is not necessary. In fact, we encourage our customers to use less “lights on” time, as it is necessary to provide more “lights off” time because plants grow and fortify in the dark times. Of course, there are always considerations of genetics and growing methods.

The Sun On-Demand™ bulbs are guaranteed to last 100,000 hours with no color shift (which means a consistent spectrum) or loss of power (this means no loss of the density of particles in the room). . In contrast, LED and HID lights show degradation of light quality within 240 hours (because degradation happens the moment you turn on the light). Additionally, HID (i.e., metal halide and high pressure sodium) lights lose around 20% of their power within the first 120 hours, causing a lot of time and labor to implement bulb replacement best practices.

This depends on the height of your growing medium. We’ve seen the best results when the lights are hung at least nine (9) feet from the soil or medium surface (6 to 7 feet above young plants canopy height). As plants mature, they will grow up very close to the light if you let them (depending on your grow methods and genetics).

This is where you will see the real benefit of TSOD. The Sun On-Demand™ typically pays for itself in less than a year, even compared to cheap HPS lights. TSOD is far superior to LEDs, bringing sunlighting energy – not light –  to your plants. Your plants will thank you because they will be healthier and able to express their compounds. Each TSOD costs $5,999 plus shipping and tax. Don’t get scared by the price tag because you’re going to cover 100-square feet of canopy.

Yes! Please protect your eyes from UV light! If you wear sunscreen outside, then you will want to wear it inside, too. Treat TSOD like the Sun. TSOD is a mini-Sun in your indoor garden. Sunlighting from TSOD includes UVA and UVB frequencies, which leads to tanning and burning in excess. But, it also builds immune systems, modulates circadian rhythms, lifts moods, rejuvenates, produces hormones and secondary metabolites (think Vitamin D), and more. We recommend being outside often! When you or your staff is working under TSOD, we recommend taking the same precautions that you would if you were working outside. Each box includes clean sunscreen and your first pair of UV blocking glasses.

No. However, it is CE rated and all components are UL approved.

The Sun On-Demand™ gives you sunlight, indoors. In contrast, artificial lights focus on Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) which refers to the visible part of the sunlight spectrum. This area between 400-700nm only represents about 43% of sunlight. It lacks ultraviolet, far red, and infrared frequencies, depriving plants of full immune expression, stunting secondary metabolite synthesis, and disrupting plant circadian rhythms. Furthermore, all artificial light sources focus on certain small areas mostly in the visible light range of the spectrum. Sunlight from The Sun On-Demand™ matches the density, uniformity, and distribution of the electromagnetic frequencies of natural sunlight outdoors. PPF from The Sun On-Demand™ is calculated at 2,000 μmols/s measured at a distance of 1 meter.
